Outreach efforts is one of the most important ministries at The Church of the Holy Trinity. Over the past 150 years, the church has contributed thousands of dollars, thousands of volunteer hours, and hundreds of items to community organizations and programs to reach those in need.
Throughout the year, the Outreach Committee raises funds to support various non-profit organizations within the city of Philadelphia and beyond. Events have included annual rummage sales, silent auctions, pie sales, and a French Cafe during the Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Festival.
The vestry has committed to increasing our financial commitment to outreach and we would like to escalate our participation in community service and outreach, because helping others is another way to develop spiritually. Extending hospitality to all can feel as though it comes with limitations at times, and we seek guidance and leadership to understand and embrace how to do this in a manner that is meaningful, Christ-like and safe. We would like to pro-act to our community needs as well as re-act positively to others who come to us in need.
CHT Outreach Vision of the Future:
● Continue trajectory of increased financial commitment to outreach
● Expand our willingness and ability to extend hospitality to all
● Increase connections with other local Episcopal and other churches in reaching charities and solving problems in our city
