The Church of the Holy Trinity (CHT), Rittenhouse Square, is a diverse and inclusive community worshiping in a beautiful 19th century building in the heart of Center City Philadelphia. Due to its location and the ministry that it offers the surrounding community, CHT has been a key parish in Center City from its very beginning (Click here for the history of our parish).
While celebrating our history and heritage, we are a community looking to engage its resources in proclaiming the Gospel and serving the needs of the world now and in the years to come. The past 15 years have seen growth in opportunities for worship, formation, service, and almost all areas of our life together. We believe, though, that God can and will do more through us in the future. We are looking for a leader to walk with us, encourage us, and challenge us to answer Christ’s call.
This profile is a snapshot of our congregation: its ministries, resources, strengths, weaknesses, and dreams for the future. It is the result of input from ongoing conversations among a large number of church members over the fall of 2015, beginning with a parish-wide discernment workshop in early September. We invite you to read these pages and consider whether God is calling you to join us in our journey.
OUR MISSION AND VISION
The Church of the Holy Trinity seeks to be a community of faith that offers comfort and rest but also challenge and service… all of which is needed for us to grow and to become people whose second nature it is, whose “default setting” it is, to reflect on daily life and to discover the presence of the Divine in all we do and all we experience.
