The Vestry is the governing board of the church and consists of twelve members, from whom the wardens and treasurer are selected. The Vestry shares with the clergy in the leadership of the parish, bearing a particular responsibility for the care of church buildings and finances. Members of the clergy sit on the Vestry ex officio as non-voting members.

VESTRY MEMBERS
  • Ashley Del Bianco (2013), Rector’s Warden

    Ashley was elected to the Vestry in Spring 2007 to focus on involving new members and encouraging growth in membership. She was appointed Rector’s Warden in 2008. Ashley also serves as an usher and in the past has coordinated CHT outings, when parishioners and friends have a chance to socialize and explore our region’s cultural attractions. In her professional life, Ashley works in educational leadership at the University of Pennsylvania. She and her husband, Ray, have been part of CHT since 2005, and, she says, “It has been exciting to be a part of a growing and energizing community.”
  • nealeB Neale Bringhurst (2013), Accounting Warden

    Neale was elected to the Vestry in the spring of 2010 and was elected Accounting Warden at the same time. His professional background lies in the investment banking and money management fields as well as serving as adjunct faculty in psychology at Immaculata University. Neale lives with his partner Sheila in Berwyn. His two daughters live nearby in Philadelphia and Spring City respectively. He also served on the CHT Vestry in the 1960s.

  • Tony Bowers (2011), Voting Member, Worship

    Tony Bowers became a member of the CHT community in 2007 after relocating to southern New Jersey from Atlanta in 2006. At CHT, he is currently serving as a Reader. Prior to being at CHT, Tony served at St. Jude’s Episcopal Church in Marietta, providing support to Reverend Frank Baltz. While at St. Jude’s Tony was a Greeter, Usher, Reader, Acolyte, Member of the Ambassador Committee and member of the Finance Committee. Tony is actively involved in community service and dedicates efforts to outreach programs targeting the homeless population. Tony is an executive with Target, Inc. He resides with his wife, Treasa Bowers, and their son, Jared in Gloucester County, NJ.

  • Sally Griffith (2013), Voting Member, Outreach

    Sally has attended CHT since mid-2005, even before moving to Center City from Havertown, where she lived for several decades. Sally was one of the first members of the Pastoral Care Team when it was formed. She enjoys attending Morning Prayer and leading the service once a week. When serving on the Vestry in her previous parish, she helped establish several new outreach ministries. Now Sally hopes to help CHT communicate with and serve its diverse urban community. A professional historian and writer, Sally is married to James Pringle; their son, Jay, is a college student.

  • Steven Jurgens-Ling (2012), Voting Member, Stewardship

    Steven and his wife Adele moved to the Philadelphia area in summer 2008 after living in South Africa for two years.  He holds an undergraduate degree in English and a Masters of Divinity and served as a United Methodist pastor for nearly ten years.  He was also in operations management with Wells Fargo for several years.  "Steven is a person of smoky faith and piquant intelligence with subtle notes of Taos and baobab". He is an avid Duke men's basketball fan.
  • Bevan Lawson (2011), Voting Member, Property

    Bevan Lawson is the Chairperson of the Property Committee on the Vestry. He and his children, Fiona and Declan, have attended CHT for a number of years. Bevan works for a local architectural firm.
  • Nicole Lewis (2012), Education

    Nicki Lewis has been attending Holy Trinity since the spring of 2008. She is employed by the National Writing Project as a program specialist who focuses on meeting planning. During her time at Holy Trinity, Nicki has taught Sunday School and helped organize the 20s & 30s group.

  • kateR Kate Roberts, Non-Voting Secretary

    Kate and her husband Wayne reside in Pennsauken, NJ. They have been attending CHT since Christmas 2005, when a good friend invited them to attend. Kate began serving as Vestry secretary in October 2009. She also serves with the greeter and hospitality ministries.  In her professional life, Kate recently retired as the Manager of Secretarial Services for a center city law firm.  Presently, she wears two hats. She and Wayne own a business marketing a line of health and nutritional supplements and Kate works part time as a Mary Kay beauty consultant.  Kate says, “Being part of CHT has been and continues to be such a blessing for us!”.
  • The Rev. Alan Neale, Rector

    Alan Neale was born in London, England. He received his first degree from the London School of Economics, followed by a second degree in Theology from Oxford University. Ordained in Exeter Cathedral, he served in the city-centre church St. Andrew of Plymouth, Devon; The University of Christ Church, Southampton; and St. Andrew, Stanstead Abbots, Hertfordshire. In 1988, with his wife Wendy and three children, he moved to Brookings, South Dakota. After thirteen years as Rector of St. Columba’s Chapel Middletown, Rhode Island, Alan became Rector of Holy Trinity in June, 2004.
  • The Rev. Diana Carroll, Assistant to the Rector

    Diana Carroll is a native of Crystal Lake, Illinois, and received her undergraduate degree in English from Kenyon College in 2004. Following graduation, she spent a year serving with the Lutheran Volunteer Corps in Tacoma, Washington, where she worked at a drop-in center for the homeless. During her time at Kenyon, Diana entered the ordination process in the Diocese of Ohio. She graduated in 2008 from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale. Diana began serving at Holy Trinity as a transitional deacon in July of that year and was ordained to the priesthood on January 10, 2009 at the Philadelphia Cathedral.
