Baptisms
The birth of a child creates a sense of wonder, awe, gratitude and more than a little concern about this “tiny, little dependent” life.
Baptism is an opportunity to re-affirm our gratitude for the gift of life and to express again our dependence upon God that we may fulfil our awesome responsibilities.
Baptism is the occasion when a new member is welcomed into the family of the Church and so all baptisms take place within our public worship on Sunday.
It is our hope that baptism will lead to a new commitment of faith expressed within the community of faith.
Given the extraordinarily wonderful number of births taking place amongst our community, we celebrate baptisms throughout the year and we try to be sensitive to the needs of the family requesting baptism as well as the needs of our own parish family.
