UPDATE Sunday March 29, 2020
This evening, we (the church and the Sunday Love Project) served meals to 115 people (we normally serve 54). We had enough for everyone, but we weren’t prepared for the level of desperation. So many other services have closed, and we saw many people who have never come to our meals before. Only a few people listened to repeated instructions about social distancing. This was a lesson in how we humans are affected by deep hunger and scarcity. We apologize to our Rittenhouse neighbors for the disturbance. We’re going to be working with other programs in the city to find creative solutions to the unprecedented crowds while continuing to serve our neighbors.

As we continue to adapt to our new way of being church and self isolation, would you like us to continue streaming services with communion or should we shift to other ways of praying together without communion?
Yes, the Church is still carrying out our mission AND loving each other and our neighbor.
We are working remotely with our wonderful staff to create a Holy Week and Easter experience that will be musical, moving, and spiritually nourishing. We will make sure this holy time is accessible to all levels of digital experience. We are working on staying connected to you with prayer, worship, and fellowship every Sunday and several times every week. We’ll post more as we continue to plan and organize.
We look forward to connecting with you!
In the meantime, please enjoy this picture of church members practicing social distancing while enjoying each other’s company (and preparing to feed our hungry neighbors).
