Welcome to the Church on the Square!
Our vision is to be the Christian Presence on Rittenhouse Square; to nourish a community where people can find connections, meaning and transformation. We will accomplish this vision through:
- radical welcome – all are invited to be a part of our community
- creative education for adults and children
- inspiring worship in the Episcopal tradition
- service to those in need, in the immediate and wider community
- welcome groups from churches, entertainment, or the community, to use our improved facilities.
Whoever you are, whatever your background, we hope you will find a place to belong and grow in your faith
We’re a community of people who are committed to welcoming others, connecting with each other, and deepening our relationship with God. God’s love transforms our lives, and we are committed to sharing that transforming love with those inside and outside our doors.
Our Church has been on Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia since 1859. We practice worshiping God in the style of the Episcopal Church, which is a Protestant Christian Denomination. The Episcopal Church has its roots in the Church of England (the Anglican Church), which was created to embrace the best parts of the Catholic & Protestant traditions.
The perfect way to learn about us is to come and visit. You can join us for worship on a Sunday at 8:30am or 11:00am (or 9:30 on the first Sunday of the month for our Family Service). You can also find more information on this website, so have a look around! If it would help to talk to someone, please contact us and we can meet up or speak on the phone to answer your questions.
