Agape is a Greek word meaning “love”–a particular kind of love, separate from romantic love or love of self. Agape is the highest, holiest kind of love, the love that is born of God and revealed most fully in the person of Jesus Christ. When Jesus shared Passover with his disciples, it was in the home tradition and setting of the Passover meal.
We will join in our own version of an Agape meal. This meal is not Holy Communion, but it reminds us how every common meal, every act of table fellowship, contains echoes of the Lord’s Supper, that great and wondrous Sacrament that we know we will enjoy together again once this time of sacrificial love is past. Join us on Zoom at 6:00 pm for an Agape Meal (see eNews for link or email firstname.lastname@example.org to request it).
