THE CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY

SOCIAL JUSTICE

WE OPEN WIDE OUR DOORS AND HEARTS.

Our home sits on the northwest corner of Rittenhouse Square, but our energy and love radiates through our doors, across the city, and beyond.

Service to our surrounding community – from our front steps to the wider world – is important to us. We take seriously the call in our Baptismal Vows to seek and serve Christ in all people, to strive for justice and peace on the earth, and to respect the dignity of every human being.

We embrace partners and service opportunities that allow us to share God’s love – and ours – in ways that are rooted in our purpose and intention as a community. Our core beliefs extend from our faith, driving our efforts to share, feed, inspire, and comfort those in need.

CH@Ts

Join us each week for deep listening, learning, and authentic conversations about what it means to be a Christian in the world today. We will combine independent learning (through articles, documentaries, TED talks, videos, and books), guest speakers, and conversation. All are invited to join us, whether you attend services, are new to the church, or are just finding us for the first time. This group is warm, thoughtful, and welcoming.

OUTREACH SHOP ON THE SQUARE

In an attempt to replace the funds raised by the rummage sale we are opening a virtual store on the square via our website. This will not only feel different to our users but it will look completely different. We are seeking up to 20 lovely items that do not need to be new, but they do need to be lovely and encourage a shopper to spend money. If you would like to donate an item or a service "e.g. a cooking lesson" for our CHT square shop please email Annie Thomas, anniet53@gmail.com and include a short description, photo, and suggested price. Click here for website.

OUTREACH

Caring for Friends

For 30 years CHT has been preparing meals for Caring for Friends through our Cook Off program directed by Peter Ryker. Over the years, an amazing total of 30,000 meals have been cooked, packaged and delivered to seniors in need. This year because of the pandemic, we were unable to continue our meal preparation for this program. However, CHT kept up its practice of outreach to this community by donating funds in lieu of meals. [caringforfriends.org]

We share our love with everyone, extending beyond the walls of our church and the lines of our neighborhood. Those who feel left behind, forgotten, struggling, in pain, or in need have a place in our hearts and our community. We are proud to partner with The Sunday LOVE Project. Their mission is to feed, clothe, and care for the housing and food insecure while building a sense of community and belonging for those who need it. Founder Margaux Murphy began serving sandwiches out of her car in LOVE Park, and now serves 5,000 people throughout the city each week. The Sunday LOVE Project believes that everyone deserves to be treated with love and dignity. Services at our site take place every Sunday and Tuesday evening.. To volunteer, sign up here.
