What are the Requirements for an Episcopal Wedding Ceremony?

In order to be married in accordance to the rites and rituals of the Episcopal Church, it is required that:

  • At least one of the individuals be a baptized Christian
  • There be at least two witnesses that attest to the ceremony
  • The marriage conform to the laws of the state and the canons of our church

Love has been in the air! A few weeks ago, Michaela and Evan got married in our church. And numerous couples have chosen our church to be the place where they start their marriages together, marking a blessed journey into a loving relationship as spouses.

While these are the requirements for an Episcopal wedding, there are many non-religious and interfaith ceremonies that take place at our church, too. We also serve proudly as a church that is a place for numerous LGBTQ+ wedding ceremonies!
